Legation Gallery
1300 D W.78th Street, 2nd Floor
Watch some of this region’s hottest designers bring their newest spring lines to the runway at legation, a gallery! The show features couture designs by recent Virginia Marti College of Art and Design graduates, as well as elaborate avant-garde felt creations by TJ Horst and one of kind urban inspired men’s’ jerseys and sweaters from the Xalter Zaughn Collection. Jewelry designed by Beatrice Bachleda.
Doors open at 7:30, Show starts at 8:00.
A reception for guests and designers will follow the show.
Or, stop back next week. On May 21st, the show opens to the public as legation, a gallery transforms into a boutique setting where the designers will be present to discuss their creations. Garments, jewelry and artwork will be for sale. The opening will also feature work by local artists Suzanne Adams, Sarah Curry, Sarah Darby, Eileen Dorsey and Liz Maugans. The fashion and boutique shows are one-night only events! We hope you’ll join us with some of Cleveland’s hottest designers at legation, a gallery, on May 14th and 21st.

Heights Arts on Lee Road
Join us in the Cedar/Lee Road area for the Worldwide Sketchcrawl. We will sketch around the neighborhood for 4 hours, with a small break around noon to catch up with what everyone has been doing. We are moderating this event. Please bring any or all of your art supplies. Stools and portable easels are a nice addition. If you haven't gone on a sketchcrawl before, feel free to check out www.sketchcrawl.com.

Meet Your Makers is a super-sized version of Cleveland Craft Coalition's monthly craft bazaar. Meet and mingle with oodles of artists, designers, and makers of all kinds of swell stuff from the Greater Cleveland Area. Enjoy complimentary refreshments as you relax in the “living room” and gush over all the neato stuff you just bought!
Shop for one of a kind sock creatures by Zombie Socks, hand knits by Embrace Imperfection, kick ass totes by Atomic Burnout, irreverent greeting cards by Candra Squire, yard and wall art by The Sign Guy, hand built ceramics by CMS designs, and more!

Drawing becomes a competitive sport at Asterisk Gallery on Sat 5/8. At Drawn and Quartered, teams of artists will compete against one another during timed drawing sessions. Competitions include the 2-hour long pose, draw the crowd, blind contour and moving models. The battles begin at 7PM @ 2939 Professor St in Tremont.
Any artist who are not on a team are welcome to come and draw and enter a separate contest for guests, prizes given at the end of the evening! Bring yer sketchpads and weapons of mass drawings. If you don't draw, but love art, having a few drinks, mingling, and havin fun, please, come on out, and bring your friends! We want to share this great event with as many people as possible!
Teams of artists will compete against each other during timed drawing sessions. This year's event will have a 2-hour long pose, and eight 5 to 20 minute short pose events including: moving models; best likeness; odd angle; draw the crowd; and blind contour. The drawing is fast, fun, furious, and extremely competitive,... with every artist utilizing all of their talents and tricks!
Live models, contests, fabulous prizes, loud audience clapping, hooting, and rooting for their favorite team and artists, and this year, we will have rotating judges, including the audience and teams. Think wide world of wrestling meets art school meets cabaret.
The audience will have a chance to draw as well, supplies provided. Donation for drinks available; music, and entertainment including dancers and caricatures available for the audience to enjoy.
